SAVE THE DATE!
You won't want to miss the Wentz Foundation's signature, annual event. Please plan to join us Thursday, May 20, 2010 to enjoy fine wines and cuisine from around the world. In its 7th year, the 2010 Incredible Wine Event & Silent Auction promises to be another fabulous evening to benefit Colorado cancer patients in need.
Thanks to the Daniels College of Business, a wonderful location has been donated at the University of Denver's School of Hotel Restaurant and Tourism Management, just off I-25 and University. Our generous wine sponsors Incredible Wine & Spirits and Colorado Wine Merchants will have sommeliers pouring for us and there will be tempting auction items to keep this world class affair on a lively note. The Raymond Wentz Foundation is privileged to have CBS4's Molly Hughes serving as Honorary Emcee of this year's event.
Volunteers are needed, so please let us know if you're interested in helping secure corporate sponsors and auction items at ddakin@raymondwentz.org.

What Happened Last Time: Wine Tasting Event 2009
It was a cold evening for May but the warmth and energy in the atrium of Palazzo Verdi at Fiddler’s Green for the annual For the Love of Raymond Wine Tasting cast a glow. Incredible Wines & Spirits were the most generous partners in the endeavor ensuring a grand success for the event. The soaring glass enclosed space welcomed old and new friends alike while chorale singers entertained the crowd with classic jazz vocals. With a wine glass in hand, event goers could tour the perimeter of room sampling the driest crispest whites of the chardonnay to the full bodied earthy reds of the cabernets. Incredible’s sommeliers were on hand for pouring, recommendations, and brief or detailed descriptions of the wine and region from which it came.
The evening included both live and silent auctions with wonderful donated prizes that ranged from art to wine to luxury services such as spa retreats and botox treatments. Dr. David Schrier, the Raymond Wentz Foundation’s founder, shared his story of meeting and caring for Raymond Wentz. Raymond was the inspiration for the foundation and the goal of ensuring no cancer patient in Colorado suffers from financial need. Finally, guests were able to watch a brief clip of the documentary Denise Schrier prepared for the Foundation featuring moving stories from grantees and an impassioned endorsement and plea from Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. Guests left with the satisfaction of a fantastic night out but also the knowledge that many patients and families would be helped thanks to their generosity.
